The Ándes Venezolanos

Venezuela is a country of great natural beauty with a tropical climate and of dramatic contrasts.

To make tourism in Venezuela can take us a lot of time, since has many places to visit. Either the forest, the plain, the beaches, the mountains and because not the cities, especially the historical helmet of each one of the states.

If we leave road toward the occident of the country we meet with the states andean: Merida, Trujillo and Tchira. Three states with a very pleasant climate that goes from the 12C to the 22C.

The highest picks in the park, and the only ones that are always snowy, are: the Peak Bolvar (Pico Bolvar) with their 5.007 meters and the Peak Humboldt, (Pico Humboldt) of 4.942 meters. Also, we can visit the Pick The Eagle (Pico el guila). which is advisable to visit before ascending to the Pick Mirrow (Pico Espejo), to leave accustoming to the height and to not suffer bad of the Moor".

The bad of the moor is sickness due to the oxygen lack in the air that can take to the fainting. For that reason, counsel seeks advice that we walk very slowly, and to eat chocolate little by little; and given the case, to take a good one calentaito" , that it is, an alcoholic drink prepared by people of the place.

In Merida exist more than 70 lagoons of glacial waters; among those that we find: the Lagoon of Mucubaj (Laguna de Mucubaj), the Lagoon of the Eyeglasseses (Laguna de los Lentes), Black Lagoon (Laguna Negra), all in the state Merida, with smaller temperatures to the 11 C during most of the year.

We can rent a cabin with their chimney in any mountain town or to stay in an inn and being assisted by that people so cordial of the ndes.

To make trips for the mountains in bicycle, jeep, to horse, on foot and to enjoy rivers of gelid and crystalline waters, it is it that more it attracts the tourist. To practice escalades from the basic levels until the advanced ones or to dare to fly in parapente constitutes a challenge.

We can go alone, if we have a good map, or to hire the services of specialized guides.

In Mucuchies it exists the Lagoon of the Hole (Laguna del Hoyo), Gavidea, The Heaps (los Montones). To arrive at the town of Tabay and to ascend until the thermal water or to the Park The Mucuy (Parque la Mucuy) where find kiosks to eat, a river fries and some flowers that are equaled to a rainbow. You can camp, provided we have permission of the guard parks.

To ascend until the Pick the eagle (Pico el guila) to go to Trujillo entering for Valera

The state Trujillo has heights that go from the 800 meters to the 1.600 meters above the level of the sea. This makes that the state offers to the tourist three types of climates: A tropical heat in the area of the plains; a spring temperature in the mountains stockings and cold in the moors

In Tchira, the warm views of the mountain and the moor melt with extensive rich plains in flora, fauna and rivers of strong flows, ideals for the sailing and the fishing. This frontier region, located in the western south part of the country, is also a region of contrasts. The fertility of its lands allows that the economy of the region leans on basically in the agriculture. For the fact of being a frontier state with the Republic of Colombia, it has generated an intense commercial activity. Their main cultivated is: coffee, potato, banana and yucca (cassava).

Point to visit is the Bridge Liberator (Puente Libertador). This spectacular engineering work, is the third more important hanging bridge of the country, National Historical Monument was decreed. Another forced visit the it constitutes San Cristobal's Cathedral. which began; being, in 1561, like a small hermitage that after the earthquakes of 1849 and 1875, it was modified four times, until being what presents us today. This church conserves the purest colonial type; their facade and towers are of Baroque style. To their side it was built the building of the Episcopal residence and the offices of the Diocesan Curia. In this church San Cristobal's images, The Christ of the Limoncito and San Sebastin are worshipped, the patron saint of the city.

Lagoon Cimarronera Their tourist attractiveness find it in their beautiful parks national, true flora reservations and typical fauna of the region. Their mountains, moors, lagoons and the peculiar climate, they constitute more appropriate scenario for the practice of the ecological tourism and the adventure tourism, both guided to the conservation of the environment.

The state Tchira is a region where the big heights are the main characters. The mountains more resaltantes are The Pulpit (el Plpito) with 3.912 meters, the Bad step (el Mal paso) of 3.850 meters, the Battalion (el Batalln) of 3.507 meters, the Tam and their 3.450 meters, the Moor of The black (el Pramo de la Negra) 3.450 meters, the Buzzer (el Zumbador) and their 2.850 mts.

As for the falls of water, we have the Jet of the Indian, (el Chorro del Indio) the Jump The Stairs (el Salto de la Escalera (Municipality Uribante) and in Guachiqu (Municipality Andrs Bello).

Taking advantage of the abundance of the waters the has been built Industrial Complex Hydroelectric Uribante-Caparo to serve electricity to the area.
Uribante-Caparo Dams

In some of their rivers it can be practiced the hunt and the fishing, like in the rivers Uribante, Caparo and Golden (Dorado).
